DISABILITY TAX CREDIT

You might have heard by word of mouth or by ads on TV or in newspapers that claim they can ‘get’ you $40K in back taxes through a special disability tax credit.  It’s TRUE!

This is a non-refundable tax credit that can give you a bigger tax refund (but only if you pay taxes).

Not only can you claim this Credit for yourself, but you can also claim it for a relative (whether they live with you or not*) who is disabled and dependent on you, and who is your or your spouse’s child, grandchild, mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, sister, brother, uncle, aunt, niece or nephew.

However, the firms that complete these forms for you are scam artists and they will charge you anywhere from $5K to $7K by taking a huge percentage of your returns. You do not need a special firm to do this for you.  Check out CRA’s link here to find out more!
